1. Personalized shirts – Designing your own shirt is a fun activity and you can even make money out of your designs and creations. Glue a button to the smaller end of a cork. Protect the shirt by placing newspaper into the inside of the shirt where you will have your design. Dilute fabric paint with a little amount of water, brush thinly into the button and stamp onto the shirt. Use different button designs and fabric paint colors, depending on your choice.
2. Rings, hair bands, necklaces, and other accessories – Fashion is a personal statement and you can make your own statement by using buttons of all shapes, sizes, colors and designs and accessorize them on necklaces, rings, hair bands or even your school bag or shoes.
3. Seasonal décor – Christmas and Valentine’s are 2 of the special events of the year when you want to try something personalized. Make a Christmas tree using red, green and white buttons, or give a thoughtful gift for your loved ones on Valentine’s Day with red or pink buttons embellished on cards or stuffed toys.
4. Edible decoration – Cakes, cupcakes or even cookies are perfect for children’s parties or christenings. Make edible button decorations with fondant to use as toppers on your favorite party dessert or cookies as favors for the guests to take home.
Buttons have been around for centuries and are always useful in many ways. Whether you are a dressmaker, a crafty person, or just someone looking for creative ways with things, this will surely keep you busy for hours.
